nefarious forces that conspire to silence me

a photo of a plastic tub of moss growing on a shallow layer of dirt. there's snow on top of the lid, and bright morning sun shining onto the moss.

this post is a work in progress. ignore it mostly.

  1. “it’s been done before”
    • a. the feeling that there’s nothing new to add to the conversation
      • * while it’s true many things have been explored, your perspective matters. like curating artifacts – each piece has a story.
      • * this feeling can be a signal. maybe you’re not connecting with your own experiences.
      • * or maybe you’re being too general, not pushing your thinking.
      • * could be you process info quickly, things feel “old” faster.
    • b. worrying about being derivative or unoriginal
      • * connecting with even one person is valuable.
      • * people are forgiving, like you are.
      • * drawing inspiration can be homage.
      • * fear of wasting time is understandable, but time passes.
      • * this “demon” is sarcastic – “someone else has got this” vibe.
    • c. the perceived pressure to create something entirely novel and groundbreaking
      • * this pressure feels external, but it’s internalized.
      • * “novel” means something that resonates, people want to engage.]
      • * it’s about sparking conversations, real impact. something exciting.
      • * avoid clichés, rehashing old ideas.
  2. “you’re not smart enough”
    • a. imposter syndrome creeping in and undermining confidence
